Thèmes de recherche

My main research interest is to estimate the contribution of tidal flats to the Blue Carbon using remote sensing. My expertise is the understanding of tidal flats vegetation and algae optical properties, in relation to their biology and ecophysiology. I mainly focus on the micro-algae communities inhabiting intertidal sediments, i.e. microphytobenthos. My expertise in radiometry is reinforced by skills in pigment analysis by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), taxonomy (mainly diatoms), and ecophysiology (PAM fluorometry and atmospheric CO2 fluxes by benthic chambers and Eddy-Covariance measurements). I develop in situ and laboratory algorithms to be applied to remote sensing images to map diversity, biomass and primary production at the ecosystem level.
