Severe asthme pathophysiology (eosinophils and bronchial smooth muscle)

Activities / Resume

As part of a double course in medicine and science (Inserm School), my research focused on the pathophysiology of severe asthma and its management in everyday practice. I obtained my MD in 2019 becoming qualified in respiratory medicine and then prepared a PhD studying the role of Rac-GTPase-dependent signaling pathway in severe asthma. My work relied on the NARACAS study (NCT03325088) which aimed to determine the expression and activity of Rac within smooth muscle cells in asthmatics. After the defense of my PhD in 2022, I took a fellow position in physiology within Nantes university hospital. I am in charge of the pulmonary function test department and the teaching of respiratory physiology in my university. As an early career scientist and physician, I am willing to develop innovative research into the evaluation of respiratory function, particularly in the context of bronchial and bronchiolar diseases. I am also carrying out fundamental research into severe asthma within an academic research unit (Inserm UMR 1087 / CNRS UMR 6291, l’institut du thorax), focusing on bronchial smooth muscle and eosinophils (team 3 “Vascular and pulmonary diseases”). I am also a member of the European Respiratory Society and of the French-speaking Respiratory Society (SPLF) since 2019.
