Research topics

Every individual has a unique muscle coordination signature. A lack of knowledge regarding the origin of individual muscle coordination signatures, and their role in the development of musculoskeletal disorders remains a fundamental gap in our understanding of human movement. The solution to this problem is beyond the scope of a single discipline of research practice. My research is at the nexus of basic and clinical science, using an interdisciplinary approach to address critical gaps in the current understanding of muscle coordination in health and disease. My ulterior motive is to provide the foundation to predict the development of physical disability and chronic pain and to direct individualised rehabilitation strategies.
