Since September 2016, the Nantes Université has participated to the project entitled Strategic Partnership for Marine Spatial Planning (SP-MSP).

Coordinated by the University of Oldenburg in Germany, the project involves partners from research and administrative organisations, as well as experts on marine spatial planning. At the Nantes Université, the project is coordinated by Brice Trouillet at the IGARUN department

It stands for a transnational cooperation project, funded by the Erasmus + program, which aim at addressing current issues in the emerging field of maritime spatial planning (MSP). The objective of the project is to reach a common understanding and transdisciplinary approaches for higher education. The project wants to develop a common European education agenda exemplified for the north Atlantic, North Sea and Baltic Sea region.

Activities, news and intellectual outputs of the project are available on its website: https://www.sp-msp.uol.de/
