Teaching
Henri Briand teaches at Ecole Polytechnique de l'Université de Nantes in the domain of databases systems at the master's level. He created the MIAGE degree in 1986 and the Informatics Department at IRESTE (Polytech) in 1992. He is the author of five books concerning information systems and databases.
Research
He was responsible for a research team at the LINA laboratory, composed of 10 professors or assistant professors and 8 PhD students. The purpose of this research is to define methodology and algorithms in the domain of data mining and knowledge management. This research is done in collaboration with enterprises. He has written more than 100 research papers for international conferences and journals.
Management
Henri Briand served as head of the Computer Department of Ecole Polytechnique from 1992 to 2003. He is now responsible for the master's program in Business Intelligence at the school.
